BirdsEye Bird Finding Guide is an essential tool for birdwatchers, offering comprehensive location data and real-time eBird updates to enhance your birding experience.
BirdsEye is a unique and powerful tool for birders, naturalists, and educators. It offers a range of features to help you discover and observe birds in your area. With the free version, you get access to stunning photographs from top birders, photographers, and guides.
Renowned birding experts have praised BirdsEye. Kenn Kaufman, author of the Kaufman Field Guides to Birds of North America, called it the "best invention for birding since binoculars." John Fitzpatrick, Director of the Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology, described it as a "landmark in birding."
The free version of BirdsEye is perfect for beginners and intermediate birders. You can explore the 100 most common birds in your area and learn about the birds you are most likely to see in your yard or local park. If you want to see more species, you can upgrade to a paid subscription that gives you access to all countable species in your region or worldwide.
Features:
- Instant Bird Lists: See customized lists of birds recently reported near you, at birding hotspots, or any random point on earth. You can also view seasonal abundance for each bird at a specific location and get driving directions to eBird sightings.
- Increase Your Life List: Get a list of "needs" - species recently reported nearby that aren't on your selected life or year list. You can also find reports of rare and notable birds in your area and across the ABA region. Plus, you can automatically sync your life or year lists with eBird.
- Trip Planning: Find additional content in the Bird Guide Store for other continents, including sounds, images, and bird-finding tips from local experts. Set Favorite Locations for your destinations to check out recent sightings and get driving directions to hotspots.
- Store: BirdsEye has partnered with Birdsounds.nl, the premier online store for bird sounds packages. You can access extensive collections of bird songs from inside the app. Current available sound packages include various regions worldwide.
Most BirdsEye functionality is available to all users, but certain premium features require a regional or world membership. These premium features include more checklists for species on the Rare Bird Alert, the ability to search for notables up to 250 miles from your current location, and unlimited Favorite Locations. You can also view bird lists for any month of the year and download content for offline use.
In addition to regional memberships, BirdsEye offers a World membership that grants access to all birds on earth and other features. The proceeds from memberships, donations, and photo contributions go towards supporting ongoing efforts to create innovative and powerful birding apps. The goal is to encourage participation in birding and contribute to bird conservation through the eBird project.
To get a membership, simply launch BirdsEye and go to the Store. You'll find a membership option there. Please note that your memberships and subscriptions will automatically renew each month, and payment will be charged to your iTunes account. You can turn off auto-renewal in your iTunes account settings if desired. For more information, visit birdseyebirding.com/privacy.
